FG urged government at all levels to ensure enhancement of private sector.

The Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria has urged the government at all levels to ensure enhancement and development of the private sector for business to thrive in the country.
The state Minister for Industry ,Trade and Investment.Hajiya Mariam Katagum made the call at the opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of the Bauchi state National trade and exhibition fair on Saturday in Bauchi .
She said there is a need for government at all levels to ensure the enhancement and development of the private sector.
“By putting in place appropriate and effective policy measures and programmes that will make business strive in the country.
“Government is determined to provide investment friendly environment Wich is very crucial for accelerated economic growth and development,” she said
Represented by Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Director Trade in the Ministry said President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration has given priority to improving the environment for doing business and provision of adequate infrastructure to stimulate a sustainable economy.
Katagum explained that FG also adopted policies aimed at promoting micro, small and medium enterprises MSME in the country.
“This sector currently represents 96% of the businesses in Nigeria and contribute 75% of the National employment,” She said.
According to Katagum FG also adopted an economic sustainability plan (ESP) for sustaining economic growth and development to optimise local content, empowering Local businesses and a self- reliant economy.
The Minister calls on captains of industries and entrepreneurs to exchange business ideas and partnership with a view to make economic growth.
She commended Bauchi state government for providing a conducive atmosphere for the trade fair, despite the COVID-19 pandemic and its challenges.
In a remark, Governor Bala Mohammmed of Bauchi state , represented by his deputy Baba Tela stressed that the 2nd Bauchi National trade and exhibition fair will provide a unique networking platform to local and National participants.
“The trade fair would help in promotion , marketing and publicity efforts of participating companies.
“While exhibition could lead to market openings, joint ventures , partnership and investment,” he said.
He assured that the government would continue to work with relevant stakeholders to achieve the vision of the economic sector.
