ITF partners NUJ to achieve mandate

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Bauchi Area Office on Wednesday says it will partner Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ) to achieve its mandate in the country.

Mr Richard Baba, the Manager ITF Bauchi Area Office, made this known when they paid a courtesy visit to NUJ Bauchi Council Chairman Alhaji Umar Sa’idu in Bauchi.

He said that they found it necessary to strengthen the existing partnership with NUJ to achieve the core- mandate of ITF in the country.

“Also to come up with new strategies that would provide a conducive atmosphere, towards the enrolment of youth into various skills acquisitions.

“And to achieve the mandate that includes job creation, wealth, skills acquisition and self reliance that is in line with the global best practices.

“We are in the NUJ Secretariat, to cement the existing synergy between the members of the press and ITF Bauchi, in order to achieve success in its operations,’’ he said.

Baba pointed out that journalists are great partners in progress to the projection of ITF activities hence the need to maintain synergy for optimum service delivery.

The Area Manager revealed that ITF is leading manpower development, providing training and skills to various organisations as well as MDA’s in order to manage and administer government resources.

He noted that ITF was equally initiating different interventions programmes to the teaming unemployed youth to become self reliance.

In a remark, the NUJ state Chairman reiterated the commitment of the union to continue to enlighten the public on the activities of ITF in the state.

He added that NUJ would educate the public on the fund towards revitalisation and operations that could put it on the footings of its mandate.

Sa’idu enjoined the Area Manager to develop more skills acquisitions programmes as part of efforts to support Gov. Bala Mohammad’s administration towards reducing the high rate of unemployment amongst youth in the state.

The NUJ Chairman also called on the Federal Government to establish more skills acquisition centres across the country, stressing that the only existing three cannot serve the teeming youth in the country.
