The Deputy Senate Minority leader and Senator representing Taraba South at the National Assembly, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha has distributed 10 tractors across the five local government areas of his senatorial zone.
Bwacha handed over the keys of the tractors to beneficiaries at an event in Wukari, headquarters of Wukari local government area of Taraba State.
He also awarded scholarships to 300 indigent students in the zone.
The senator who is representing the zone for the third time is rumored to be gunning for the governorship seat in 2023.
Speaking at the occasion on Wednesday, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha explained that the scholarship given out is to the tune of about N5.5 million while each tractor, according to him is N22 million.
“Everything I do is to put smile on people’s faces and as their representative, I should be able to give account of my stewardship to those that elected me.
“The tractors I am distributing are 10 and each at contract price is N22 million.
“The scholarship on the other hand is given to those who cannot afford to pay their fees and it is well over N5 million.
“This has become a yearly ritual every December since 2011 which I don’t intend to stop doing.” The Senator added.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Luka James described Bwacha as God sent and thanked him for the gesture.
He said the Senator was a true representative of his people who always initiated people oriented programmes and projects for his constituents.
Luka urged all political office holders to emulate Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha in returning to their constituents with dividends of democracy.
